Miyake Taiko Workshop
Miyake Taiko is known for its low stance, fluid movements, and powerful beats. While it became popular worldwide thanks to Kodo’s signature piece “Miyake,” this version finds its origin in the traditional “Miyake-jima Kamitsuki Mikoshi Taiko” upheld in the Kamitsuki Region of Miyake Island. Come and learn from the source, Miyake-jima Geino Doshi-kai—the locals who originally taught Kodo to play Miyake Taiko in the early ‘80s. It’s a full-body workout!
